I got my eyeglass clip-ons today to filter out blue light. They're going to take some getting used to. When I wear them, I can't distinguish white from light yellow. Green, grey and blue all look pretty similar too. If any of you decide to try this, you might want to get the lightly tinted lenses instead of the dark ones shown below. But the light yellow lenses aren't as effective as the dark ones at removing the harmful blue light, so you'll be compromising on your health. It seems that there is no perfect answer.

Fortunately, I won't be wearing these things all the time. My distance vision is great. These filters will only be used when I'm on the computer at night. I figure that I spend so much time looking at a computer screen that I'm a good candidate for blue light induced retinal damage. (However, even the overhead lights that most of us take for granted emit significant blue light and are now known to be harmful. Same for TV. There's no winning except MAYBE to turn off the computer and TV and replace all the light bulbs in the house with $20 bulbs that remove the blue.)

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

I just ordered blue-light blocking clip-ons. New evidence suggests that blue light doesn't just affect mood, cause insomnia, cause eye strain and irreparable retinal damage, but it may also take years off of people's lives.

If you're considering replacing your incandescent bulbs with LEDs, you should pay the extra money for blue-light filtering bulbs. They're expensive but worth it.
