That's a lot of ice, yer majesty ... we'd better get ourselves some bigger whiskey glasses.

An iceberg the size of Los Angeles just broke off Antarctica

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/10/01/iceberg-d-28-breaks-off-antartica-amery-ice-shelf/3829083002/

...before the bed wetters get their hopes up, let me point out that this "iceberg" didn't melt. It broke because it got so massive it could not support it's own weight. As it moves North (toward the equator) it will melt because it is what has always happened. It will join huge masses of water elsewhere and will rise into the clouds as vapor. There it will go over the planet and redistribute itself as rain. Some of this rain will fall in Antartica and will refreeze beginning the cycle all over again. Been going on for a helluva long time. Even longer than snapits has been alive.
