...it would be smart of this guy to keep his pie hole shut because any hint that he was expecting the thugs and was waiting for them will be interpreted as 'laying in wait' or 'an ambush type killing'. There was a guy a couple of years back who's home had been burglarized several times when he wasn't home. Cops were unable or unwilling to do anything about it. He drove his truck to someplace to hide it and went back home and sat in his house with his gun and waited. When they came in the house he shot and killed both of them. Obvious case of justifiable homicide, but he let his pie hole talk him into a lengthy prison sentence. Justifiable or not, if ya shoots somebody get a lawyer and listen to him.

All this from my Law and Order Tv show degree in law and hot chicks.

He said he heard "tap tap tap" gunshots followed by "thunk thunk thunk" and knew immediately that the much heavier return fire was an AR-15. He later saw the police removing it from his neighbor's house. This all bodes well for his neighbor. If it holds up, it means the attackers started the shooting. Thank goodness the home owner had a terrific gun and was able to mount a defense.
