That's partly because I've become risk-averse in retirement (I even own a 2.8% CD), but more because I've become very picky about the stocks I buy and only find an attractive one on rare occasion. FYI, I am five-for-five using the methodology I have today. All have been multi-baggers within two years (Genentech is the only one that took longer than one year.) We'll see if KPTI makes it six-for-six.

My brother has done very well in real estate. His strategy for thirty years was to only buy a rental property if he concluded that it would cash flow 25% per year. That's a good goal. It's been my target with stock as well. However, unless a person is extremely dishonest or lucky, he will NEVER achieve that type of return with solid, well-established and profitable companies. Their strengths are already factored into the stock price. To get really high returns, you have to dig into a company to find what it's about and project its future success before "the big boys" do. Surprisingly, it's possible to do that. "The Big Boys" are smart, but they're also s-l-o-w. There always seems to be time to buy into great small companies that are undervalued.

Zim is very comfortable in his investing strategy. he points that out quite a few times to me. lol All's good.......
