Frangible bullets break apart on impact, yer majesty. Can cause a lot of damage to soft targets, but are no good against hard targets. So, can be an exceptionally good round to use in home defense because ... if you hit an intruder who isn't wearing really dense clothing or even body armor, the shot has a good chance of being a fight ender ... but, if you miss and hit the wall to your child's bedroom, the bullet should break up without a lot of penetration. However, if you are outside and someone is trying to run you down with a car, your bullets are just going to be nothing more than an ineffective "splat!" "splat!" "splat!"
