Ah, yes ... just one of many amusing idiosyncracies of the Southern dialect. That one doesn't usually cause too much trouble, but ... sometimes ... when we say "ice" and the other person ... probably a damn Yankee ... thinks they hear "ass" ... well ... it can lead to a rather interesting conversation, don'tcha know.
