One great way to make a Marine trailer increaase value and last almost forever rust free is to do the following:
1. Take it to a custom powder coating shop
2. Have it blasted completely clean.
3. Have them air blow it after cleaning.
4. Have them epoxy primer the trailer at about 4 mils thickness
4. After the primer is not yet cured, apply a topcoat of color of your choice in a Super Durable Polyester powder at about 4 mils thickness.

5. Stick trailer back in batch oven for about 35 minutes at 400 degrees and let the epoxy finish curing and crosslink the polymers between it and the polyester.

Water will never get through that combination and the epoxy primer will also act as a barrier and be chemical resistant as well.

The trailer will be rust free for a very long time......

You could likely get more monmey for it than ya paid to have it coated in that condition.

Just a thought......
