I'm watching 'The Silence' on Netflix. It's about what happens to one family in particular after a group of spelunkers accidentally opens a chasm filled with a few trillion carnivorous, flying pteradactyls. The thing is, the 'dactyls are blind but they hear pretty darned well and attack in quantity whenever anything makes a sound (Oh no, Earth's women are doomed!) and that gives the film its title. Yeah, it's a lame movie, but it had two juicy tidbits worth sharing. First, the daughter in a bit of early insight proclaims "Then the cities are the very worst places to be!" Yep. She's right about that. Second, the 'dactyls can't handle cold weather - so it looks like some of our Yankee women are going to survive after all. (But not clo. She's too much of an urbanite. I'm pretty sure anyway that she wouldn't want to go on in a world without Macy's and food stamps.) Sorry about all you Southern and Midwestern folks. By the end, you're all just a bunch of gnawed bones.

Now you know why I'm in New Hampshire: No cities. No warm winters. No flying carnivorous dinosaurs to worry about. If this ever happens for real, Nemo and I might be the only boardmembers left.

On the 'Five Stars' scale, this movie gets a two. That's being kinda generous.
