found out later on last night that when the panhandlers / homeless / whatever get arrested they are allowed to sign themselves out of jail on their own recognizance. According to the mayor, it isn't fair for rich people to be able to post a cash bond and get out of jail and for poor people to have to sit in jail.

I understand that good ol’ Bernie favors this exact policy for thw whole US. What could go wrong?

Pardon me mz mayor, do we have a big problem with rich people following ya into stores and begging? Or is it perhaps that rich people are camping on the sidewalks and crapping in the streets.

We realize that you are behind a big thick wall and you have police protection, but those of us who have to live in the mess you have created, we are pissed.
