...the .22 ammo is as good or better than either other calibre ya mentioned and it is a lot cheaper and can be used in both a .22 rifle or a .22 pistol. It is the ultimate in survival ammo. In the even of a collapse of society we will be out of deer in a bouple of months. However there will be rats for a long time.

Basically, all too true ... however, there are some calibers that are truly worthless - .25 ACP and .32 ACP. The best and highest use for those little pistols is as a fishing weight. I'd much rather have a .22 LR in my hand.
