Don't stress too much, micro ... placement of the round is what matters most. You want a pistol that feels natural in your hand, you can acquire the sights quickly, and you can control to deliver the round accurately. I prefer firing the .45 ACP out of the 1911 frame, but the Springfield XD-S is a lot easier to carry. So, if I am traveling ... it's the 1911 ... if I am going around town with it concealed ... it's the XD-S. For the 5-round magazines, I install finger extensions to make it easier to grip ...

The finger extensions are very easy to install. BUT, Springfield makes the XD-S in 9mm, too. If 9mm is what you are used to and are comfortable with, go with that and don't give it a second thought! The 9mm is far better than the .380 ACP (originally designated by the Germans as the 9mm Kurz - or 9mm short) and the .380s tend to be way too small for my hands, which is why I don't own one. The only reason I suggested them was because you mentioned an ankle holster.

Hi everyone.

Appreciate all the comments and ideas. I am open to pretty much everything. I own some full size 9 mm semi autos including a Ruger that I am pretty a pretty good shot with. Unfortunately, being full size and heavy it is not concealable and too heavy anyway. It holds 15 rounds of ammo.

I was reading reviews about various guns. I am not married to 9MM Luger type ammo but since I already have lots of it andm ost is hollow point brass jacketed 147 grain I would have a common supply for both handguns.

As I think about this more, I could actually carry the full size Ruger with me in the car when I travel to a client.
Tomorrow would be a good example as I am leaving my driveway at 6:00 a.m. for Cleveland.

It's when mrs. micro and I are together going out somewhere that I want this for.

I guess I am not willing to become someone's target that won't fire back or put an end to some crazy person just killing people.

I hate the really small sub compacts because here really is not room for three finger grip below the trigger on most.... Less gripping force means less accuracy when firing due to recoil and not enough grip force.

Yet, if I want to carry concealed in public around here I don;t want it to be noticeable either.

The choices are many and difficult. As Riana said, maybe go shoot a few of them at the store range and see what they feel like and how they perform..

What is smallest calibre round that has stopping power??

I know it isn't .22 calibre. is it the 9MM ? Or is it maybe .308 ?

That film simply scares the dalights out of me for what the mentally impaired will be encouraged to do....

Cannot believe the government won't shutthat thing down.
