The consumer-products company Clorox is boosting its dividend by 10%, adding some shine to a stock that hasn’t kept pace with the market lately.
Late Monday, the company announced a quarterly disbursement of $1.06 a share, up from 96 cents. This marks the 42nd consecutive year that total annual dividends paid to Clorox (ticker: CLX) stockholders have increased.
The stock is off about 8% since the end of March, compared with a 0.2% gain for the S&P 500. The shares, which yield 2.6%, have a one-year return of about 26%, compared with 6% for the broader market.
