sorry to hear that you had run the 14/3 only to discover that it was indeed supposed to be 2 wire for 220 volt cuurent. Makes sense.

zim was spot on. As usual. Now that I think about it the circuit breakers in my load center for the Heatpump a/c are 220 V just like the Clothes dryer, water heater, and kitchen Range.

I am glad amnyway that you figured it out through "trial and error" and you can now enjoy the "coolness" of your labor!

Micro,

As I suspected the Samsung manual is in ERROR. My plan was to run 12 gauge for the whole shebang yet I ran 12 to the compressor and 14 3 to the air handler. SO - I have an extra unused wire (ZIM - you are correct - it is 220) and am a little ticked at myself. Ohh well - lesson learned and I have learned more about HVAC than I cared to LOL. The cool air will be satisfying!

Sorry to hear about your causation correlation yet being high and dry will also be comforting for you I am sure!!
