Hydro,

I guess to an extent we are all, as you said, "functional slaves" are we not? After all, we all work (or worked)

May I kindly add something here. NO, we are not slaves because we do something USEFUL with our lives.

The BIBLE plainly states that if a man does ot work, neither should he eat.

In other words, if ya is too lazy to get off yer butt and do some work to get things done evenif that includes gainful employment to make money so you can BUY essentials and non-essentials for your family, you should not be stuffing yer face....

WE were made to work. Our body is designed to do just that.

Functional slaves????

Only in someone's hypothesis. We are blessed to live in this country, defend it while putting our own lives at risk for the protection of others, and do so willingly.

W e earn an income in various ways and methods inorder to procure things we all need to sustain our health, a place to live and to enjoy this life we have been given upon this world that GOD created.

THIS is all HIS plan.

I beg to disagree with being a slave.

Only my perspective. Yours may vary... Thumbs Up

Decomposed,
I want to apologize for using the word 'ignorant' and have changed it in the initial post. I agree there are depressing stats out there yet "A person who doesn't marginalize will be driven right out of his mind" and in doing so becomes mentally numb to the massive numbers of everything - good and bad.

Having B+ blood I try to look for the positives in everything and sometimes to my overly optimistic detriment. I guess to an extent we are all, as you said, "functional slaves" are we not? After all, we all work (or worked) and traded part of that '100 very short years' for linen paper with serial numbers.

PEACE
