Re: "It would not have ended on it's own"
Why not? Slavery was ending EVERYWHERE and was practically eradicated worldwide by 1905. The U.S. is the only place on Earth that ended it with a war. And although revisionist history claims that the war was BECAUSE of slavery, that's not true. Slavery was ended as a strategy to win the war. That's why Lincoln didn't issue the Emancipation Proclamation up front. He waited over two years. At the start of the war, Lincoln was not planning on eliminating slavery. In fact, many believe (for good reason) that the Emancipation Proclamation wasn't meant to apply to slaves in the North.

...enslaving someone is as bad as murdering someone. It would not have ended on it's own for the slaves of early America without Lincoln or someone like him any more than it would have ended in Egypt without Moses. God may not send us 'perfect men' but he will send us the right man at the right time whether it is Moses, Lincoln, Churchill Reagan or Trump.

...another thing about slavery is that it is harmful to both the slave and the slave owner. Harmful in many ways.
