well De,
this is where we are going to have a different point of view. NOBODY has a right or is justified for assassinating a President or anyone else just because you thought you were going to be a hero to the Southern people. And that was Booth's motive. He was shocked when he discovered that the people did not share his views and and make a statue of him....

Was Lincoln a perfect man? No.

DID ANY President or Congress before him actually DO anything about the SLAVERY that was meaningful and bring an end to ssomething even the founding father's admitted should end but yet did nothing?

Lincoln had the courage to face this division of northern and southern states to unite the nation.

Just because people don;t agree with what you may do or say does not give them the right to kill.

I don't say you have to like Lincoln, but I will say he was the only of the first 16 prsidents that had the BALLS to end this national disgrace in a so called FREE land.

Every single one before HIM kicked the can down the road.

So what do you think about the procrastinators who say one thing and do another?

Everysingle one of them did some things that were good for the growth and survival of a fledgling nation and yet only one ended slavery. And he paid for that with his own life by a murdered named John Wilkes Booth, a deranged actor looking for thanks from the Southern people.

Every book I have read has said this same thing studying Booth. Each has pointed out Lincoln's character and sometimes forcefulness.

In the end, he saved the country...
