Well, I went to college for half a year and
felt like I learned almost nothing. I went
to work for a department store for less than
a dollar an hour but then lunch was about a
dollar if I ate a lot. I worked my way up
through the chain and then a friend helped
me get a job with Western Electric. My per
diem was enough to live off of and I saved
my pay check. I think I probably made more
than I would have with a college degree.
