When you spend $1000. it will cost you $1,230.

Ummmm. that is 23%

SO, you are saying that 23 percent would become the national across the board tax rate?

Does that include state income taxes as well? And Local? And property? What about FICA taxes?

I understand the principle that is being illustrated but I don't think I want to have a national 23 percent sales tax on everything I spend. I would much prefer a flat rate national income tax that is LOW.

The same percentage should be applied to every tax filer no matter their income. Thatway eeveryone pays the same ratio and there is no being hammered just because you make more money than someone else..

This is jut my opinion.

Thanks! Very Happy

Decomposed. You said "It's not perfect since it still taxes some Americans more than others and I don't think that that is proper. If we are all equal before the law, why should some people be allowed to pay less to sustain the government than others??" That made me laugh out loud!! Warren Buffet pays LESS taxes than his secretary - what is equal about that??? I encourage you to go to the http://www.fairtax.org website as they explain how this works in much greater detail than I will. When you earn $1000 you KEEP & bring home $1000. When YOU decide to spend the $1000 it will cost you $1230. It treats ALL Americans equally as it is based on your spending and offers 'prebates' to those on the lower end of the income spectrum. I see nothing unfair about that arrangement - not to mention the removal of those buried taxes embedded in the cost of goods and services = lower prices and that is good for all Americans. EDIT: It also abolishes the IRS!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=xZlgKTJJ2gM&feature=youtu.be

Now regarding my Don Quixote search for free energy - yes the Sun is there yet the efficient mechanisms to harvest its energy, IF discovered, are and have been buried. You know what the most abundant element in the Universe is? Hydrogen and I have long believed it to be one key to the energy lock. Being cynical (and IMHO) I believe that the solutions do indeed lie buried within the USPTO offices and were bought out and buried by big oil. Just as pharmaceutical companies do not want cures, only clients, the same modus operandi applies to big oil companies and the currently all mighty petro dollar. The Invention Secrecy act of 1951, and other 'rules', facilitates this massive continuation of a petro economy and cover up of potential energy solutions. WE went from bi planes by the Wright Brothers to the SR-71 in 60 +/- years and IF we can invent the atomic bomb and put man on the moon then we can and should explore the knowledge buried in the USPTO!

I think the answers have been bought & buried within the USPTO offices so why not have an exploratory program to find and deploy the potential knowledge for the benefit of ALL of mankind??
