This is a state-by-state issue . . . to be decided by the voters of each state. This is one of the crown jewels of our Constitutional Republic - that the various states can be laboratories for testing how best to deal with diverse issues.

And I fully agree with you Mister Wizard.

Zim,

I have a different take.

I personally believe that abortion any time after conception is murder. However, I live in a Constitutional Republic and will abide by its duly instituted laws. But, that does not mean I will not campaign and vote to change those laws with which I do not agree.

Here's the rub . . . the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade was a ridiculously tortured, illegitimate stretch of fantasy by libtards to insert a nonexistent "right" into The Constitution that flat out is not there - period. Therefore, this is NOT a federal issue. Back to the Tenth Amendment . . .

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."

This is a state-by-state issue . . . to be decided by the voters of each state. This is one of the crown jewels of our Constitutional Republic - that the various states can be laboratories for testing how best to deal with diverse issues. This allows the People a far greater opportunity to have their voices heard and to exert their rights, rather than a few unelected jurists in black robes and nameless bureaucrats forcing their prejudicial will on hundreds of millions of citizens. Also, if you happen to be on the losing side in your state . . . whichever way that might go . . . and your attempts to change the state law are in vain . . . you can always move to another state that has laws with which you agree, if it is that vitally important to you. If it is decided for you at a federal level, you do not have that ability, unless you wish to emigrate and take up a new nationality. This way, everyone has the opportunity to provide their input on this thorny issue and choose to live under laws with which they can abide.

In any event, I submit to you that the question of abortion quite simply boils down to whether the act of intentional infanticide is murder or not. Is it simply a medical procedure or an act of murder? If a state chooses to view it as an acceptable medical procedure, then it is simply that . . . it is not a "right" and it is not some free or subsidized government program that everyone in the state should have to pay for. If it is legal in your state and you want an abortion, then it is a medical procedure . . . a medical service . . . for which YOU pay - period. This is especially important because the citizens within your state who do believe abortion is murder, in spite of the law, will not be complicit in your act, AND the citizens of your state will not have to fund abortions in your state for people who are citizens of other states that consider abortion to be murder.

B.
