I'm an ET Captain. (Electronics Technician.)
Lets just say I work in an industrial environment. If it has wires on it and is used
in production, sooner or later I'm going to have to fix it. I work on things from
laser beams to 75 horse motors. The drives for said motors, and a lot of stuff in
between. Including computers, VFDs (variable frequency drives), PLC's (Porgrammable Logic
controllers), relays, wires, circuit breakers, . . . the list goes on and on.
Yesterday I went down to a place in North Carolina and worked on a machine called a
'pile turner'. I fixed it. Today I toured an aquarium down there, then came back home.
How long till I retire? Last year I was thinking four more years . . . This year I'm
thinking it might be possible for me to retire end of this year. But I'm thinking of
maybe working one more year.
