Re: "Predictably, environmental groups, meanwhile, called the measure an assault on free speech."
Ignorance is a dangerous thing. Libtards don't understand the simple concept that "My right to swing my fist ends where your face begins." Interrupting services, interrupting construction and breaking equipment is *NOT* a right protesters have. They aren't examples of free speech. They are examples of harming others. They are criminal activities.

We saw another example of the same thing last week in that video of the college student who stole the pro-life protesters' sign. They had a right to protest abortion. She had a right to ignore them or protest right back. Neither had a right to take the other party's property. Not even a sign. I don't think the student will get more than a slap on the wrist for what she did, but HOPEFULLY she will learn a valuable lesson about crossing the boundary that separates her rights from other people's rights.

In 2018, an assistant professor of economics at a New York university (SUNY, I think) was arrested after a security camera caught her stealing a campaign sign from a homeowner's front yard. I'm sure she felt morally righteous as she committed this petty crime and very smug as she drove off with it. She wasn't particularly pleased with ME, however. In a followup story, she whined that someone had reported her arrest to the university and had sent her death threats.

I didn't send her any death threats. As for complaining about her to her employer and suggesting that they fire her for violations of the ethics agreement staff must sign and then sending her an e-mail to let her know what I'd done . . . . I'll take the 5th.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
