That's a mighty fine Rube Goldberg brake ya gots there Nemo! SO, your bottom that you actually bend against is made out of what? Hopefully a piece of steel? A steel bar would be ideal.
I had a few box and pan folders at the plant. Handy tools when ya need them.

Pretty ingenious idea sir !! Congrats on a job well done... Thumbs Up

Watched a guy on Utube last night, Man he sure put a lot of work into his. Of course his looks a lot better and he painted it LOL. Just used a couple door hinges, cut them in a little into the 2x4, welded on a socket for a handle, and used angle aluminum for the hold down piece. Works real good. up to 20". I made one out on Orcas island to make a free standing range hood over the counter top range. I made that one out of boat trailer parts. I could bend sheet metal up to 5 foot wide with that one.......... Just clamp it to the bench and when done put it away!!!

I will use it to bend new burner covers in BBQs I fix up. Thats the first thing to rot out on them. Going for a freebie tomorrow. It needs the new covers and one burner. It had a working Rotisserie also. All SS nice grill.....

EDIT, Just noticed an error. I am limited to the width I can bend between the 2 bolts ya see holding down the top piece. I will re drill them all the ways to the ends. That will be my max width........
