I did something like that with my first purchase of
Dominion Resources. It was four months till I got
my first dividend check. (1997. And I've been getting
the checks ever since.)

The dividend pay date is May 15, 2019 to shareholders of record on April 19, 2019 (ex dividend April 17, 2019).
