Good morning Zim!

Yes sir,. Reverse splits usually are the beginning of "death spirals". Over 95% of the time. That indicates things are not good and likely are not reverseable either.

I have watched those things happen for the last 40 years.

Kroger, KR, does 2 for 1 splits. My mother in law worked there her whole life. They let their share price get up around $50 and then do a 2 for 1 split. YES, you have twice as many shares at half the value, which equals the same, but their share price usually just goes back to climbing gradually back up to $50 again.

14 years ago we acquired some shares of ANTM, anthem blue cross and shield. They were around $40 dollars per share. Now they are at around $260 per share.

There are some good buys but today is kinda scary...

At least to me...Very Happy

Micro,
Dominion Resources - , my local power company, did a 2-1 stock split.
Back around the end of 2007. November 19, 2007 and the share price
would have been somewhere around $95 a share.

As I said before, when it was over I owned twice as many shares worth
half what they were before. With the dividend amount per share cut
in half.

What really hurts is what they call a 'reverse split' . . .
In a 1-2 reverse split one owns half as many shares
worth twice what they were before the split . . . Usually done to
keep the per share price high enough so the market doesn't de-list
them. Also usually a pre-cursor to the company going bankrupt.

I think the ticker was 'NCC' and they got taken over by PNC and
I lost about everything I had in it. (Which, fortunately, wasn't
really all that much.) (2008.)

Zim.
