Sure, I only spent an hour trying to copy and paste a relevant article for you, and all.
Here's the link:
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/tariffs-on-china-what-are-they-and-how-do-they-work-and-what-do-they-aim-to-achieve/
----------
As a very dedicated American, I always root for the US. I am just trying to educate myself on the PRO'S and CON'S of the tariffs.
Ok, now whose word is it re: China hurting more?
-------
You said, " hasn't China been engaged in the wholesale
theft of intellectual property for decades? Starting with stealing Russian
military tech and selling cheap knockoffs? (And my source suggests that the
cheap Chinese military tech is, in many cases, superior to the original
Russian stuff. Exception being aircraft and helicopters.)
Zim.
-----------
I am not arguing the above points. The Chinese are guilty of many things and I know the Donald has been following them for years and years.
He's not always right, IMO.
These tariffs are going to cost us.
Read my article and NEMO's too.
I want the "bottom line" on the products that I buy regularly.
SIMPLE QUESTION: tomatoes on the vine - you can now get them on sale for .88 cents. If the tariffs are effective, we'll never see that price again.
People thought our Middle Eastern problems were not going to increase the price of gas by more than .50 cents a gallon.
.50 cents a gallon times 15 gallons = $7.50 more per week. $30 bucks a month.
I didn't get that kind of increase in my paycheck.
It's always about the pocketbook.
Punish China in a way that does not punish us.
------
See my point?
I am not arguing your points; I just want to know what these tariffs are going to cost us.
CHINA = you may "fold" now!
If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
