Re: "Drones are also potentially very useful tools. Can you think of a faster way for a farmer to check his fields? Or a cattle rancher to check on his herds?"
I think it's very likely that drone vehicles will be on the market within ten years. Like anything else, they'll initially be for the wealthy, but I bet they'll get down to $75,000 before we know it - at which point folks who might have otherwise bought a Corvette or Tesla will purchase them. At that price, I'd be tempted.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Micro > To follow your and Zim's logic, I would ask why we are not allowed to have certain explosive materials or buy plutonium?

If,
Our tyrannical government has M1 tanks . . .
How else are we supposed to stop them? Meaning maybe we
ought to be allowed to have certain explosive materials and
fully automatic weapons.

Lasers are very useful tools. From laser levels to laser
surveying equipment to classroom pointers. Drones are also
potentially very useful tools. Can you think of a faster way
for a farmer to check his fields? Or a cattle rancher to
check on his herds?
