My wife wanted to go to a rummage sale today and dragged me along, so we left the house early (9 a.m. is early for me these days). As soon as we turned onto the street, we slowed down and stopped. "Wow, a badger!" I said. "That's not a badger," she replied. "It's a beaver." Sure enough, a good sized beaver was crossing the road to enter the creek on our property.

That's the second beaver I've seen in the state, but the first time I've seen one heading onto OUR land.

We traveled on and my wife got in the final word: "Now you can tell 'em that we've got tits, red-breasts AND beavers!"
