One time I wanted an example to give to a local man with a concern about the climate. I told him to take a 13 gallon aquarium and fill it with water. Add 1 tablespoon of ink. That represents 300 ppm which is considered the ‘standard’ historical CO2 concentration. Then add 1 teaspoon more ink. That represents the increase to 400 ppm that exists today. He asked, “Is that what all the fuss is about?” I said it was and I haven’t heard about his climate concerns since.

Of course, these numbers are approximate but are good enough to get the point across.
