a million bucks ain't what it used to be. Joe Namath, one of the NFL greats signed his original contract with the jets for $400,000 and people said it would destroy football. The other day there was a baseball player who signed a ten year contract for $300,000,000 and it didn't raise an eyebrow. My point here is that a million bucks a year is about what someone in the upper middle class might be making. The hate for these folks isn't from the bottom percentage of earners in the country. It's from the top who regularly erect "Tax Walls" to keep the peasants out of their neighborhoods and country club and from marrying their daughters.

Legislators in the Bay State are preparing to roll out a millionaires tax (carrying the oh-so-socialist name of "the Fair Share Amendment") that would pile on another 4% in taxes for any income over one million dollars. Even though the structure of it looks constitutionally dubious, supporters think they can get it pushed through this time. ...

How much ya wanna bet that John Francois "Brown Pants" Kerry hops in his yacht and sails it back to Rhode Island, eh?
