My son is in San Francisco today, waiting for a 4PM flight to Japan. If it's on schedule, he's probably taking off RIGHT NOW. (Update: I just checked and it left six minutes EARLY. Wow, I didn't think flights ever left before the scheduled time.) Hopefully he'll enjoy his 5 months abroad.

Did he arrive safely, DE?

Hopefully, you have heard from him and he's A-OK.

Re: "The mrs. next vehicle will likely be a certified SUV with less than 25,000 miles on it... "
We never did buy a car for my son or my wife. Since the minivan is running well now (at 205,000 miles), my wife plans to drive it and my son to Virginia in August and leave it there for his use. My wife will then take Amtrak back to NH. We're fortunate to have a station nearby.

Then we'll likely start shopping for an SUV for her. We won't be rushed. These days, we hardly ever need two vehicles. That could change if I often need to go to 'the barn' property, though. I hope that's the case since it will mean that progress is being made.

When you buy, please let us know what SUV you decide upon. We might want something similar. The only thing we've decided is that it should have All-Wheel drive.
