Re: "You mean you still haven't bought some of them 'Crampons' for your shoes so's you don't slip?"
No, I have them. I'm just lazy and didn't put them on.

I also have this self-destructive tendency to want to beat the ice... even though it keeps beating me!

It doesn't help that the viscosity of the ice changes significantly with the temperature. Yesterday, when I was taking trash to the dump, it was slicker than snot on a doorknob. When I returned half an hour later, it wasn't so bad. Day to day, it can be dramatically more (or less) slippery. There's always this curiosity that demands testing how bad the ice is this time. Usually I don't put on the crampons. If I have a bigger job like bringing in the groceries I'm more inclined to wear them. I guess that means that I'm willing to risk an arm or a leg - but not a jar of mayonnaise!

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

You mean you still haven't bought some of them
'Crampons' for your shoes so's you don't slip?

I remember walking on treacherous ground while I was in Alaska.
One short failure to walk carefully had me flat on my back.
