My 3rd great-grandfather was a Presbyterian minister for many years, including the Civil War years. His son, Alexander, was also ordained. But, then he went to war (with an Ohio regiment). When he got out he resigned his ordination. I havenâ€™t researched where he fought but one can omly imagine what he saw that rocked his faith.
