What makes me think they don't know what they are doing is that they haven't a clue how to manage a nice Department store where people actually go to look at things theya re interested in buying, and have managed to shrink market share and run it into the ground.
The other stuff about the escape routes and parachutes for the top exec is likely true but the exec had to ruin the company first instead of turning it around and fixing errors from the prior moron..
I don; think JC Penney should be in the appliance business,. I alsop think they hurt themselves with the FEMALE clothing department when they stopped carrying clothes that middle age women could wear and look nice in. They went to catering to the young and stupid and think someone who is 50 or older should wear the same crappy looking stuff thatis missing fifty percent of the material.
WHO has the money and incme to spend to on looking nice? It aint the youngsters...
So they basically threw away the most important segmnent of their clientele. THAT is why the ceo is a numnut..
Wish I could have gotten my hands on this chain...
Would have had a lot of different things happen than what actually did....
I still believe people would prefer to try on something they are going to purchase before actually purchasing it and also to see it in person rather than some online pic that may or may not be accurate...
Just my opinion. But I do like the mens department and several others at Penneys.
