...a long time ago I worked for an armored car folks. The windows were a couple of inches thick as well as the armor plating on the outside. Windows did not roll down, They were not air conditioned and on a summer afternoon in Atlanta the temperature outside could reach 100 which meant that the temperature inside could approach that 120 degree mark before mentioned.

...insurance regulations required that there be three men on every vehicle. A driver, a courier and a guard. The company decided that rather than get a good armed guard they would hire rent a pigs from a local service. One hot day they sent an old guy about 85 out with us. The heat got to him about 2:00 or so in the afternoon and he passed out and crapped his pants full. Called the office and told em we had to come back in and they advised us to finish our route first. It was hot, traffic was heavy and when we got back to the office the first thing I did was get a cold drink of water and tell em to stick that job up their collective posteriors.

Yep ... 3 miles per hour top speed. The exhaust pipe would glow red hot and raise the temperature inside the tank to a toasty 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Also put off a lot of carbon monoxide inside the tank, as well. I don't know ... after a while of riding in one of those beasts, the early tank crews may have found accurate enemy artillery shells preferable, eh?
