I wouldn’t necessarily think that gov’t employees would be wise enough to save for a rainy day.

Thats what I was thinking as well............... Thumbs Up

Are they that poorly paid working for the gumpies that missing ONE check is doomsday?

Some people in any income bracket spend everything they earn and live paycheck to paycheck. I wouldn’t necessarily think that gov’t employees would be wise enough to save for a rainy day.

Another thought, what would be the average net income of these 800,000 gov’t workers? Would $1,000 per week sound about right? If so, then missing this two-week paycheck will have a$1.6 billion impact to the economy. To be made up later, but it could have an impact while the shutdown lasts.
