Re: "Oh, Cher, you are in such deep doo doo with your Hollyweird crowd - DEEP, VERY DEEP...."Cher is right - and that's not something you'll hear very often from me. This is a fight that only Trump can win, and she apparently knows it. After all, the President loses nothing by keeping 25% of the government closed. His supporters mostly like the idea.

Cher is not the brightest bulb, but I agree with her, too. I read nemo heard on the radio that it is 7% of the government. Regardless of the percentage, I do support the closure because NOBODY has addressed the issue of immigration in this country. It just has to be resolved as it will become an endless problem that
keeps getting kicked down the road. It's now or never, as the next set of caravans will arrive soon.

For Democrats to keep the government closed for a protracted period for the purpose of keeping the President from getting a measly $40 per taxpayer risks infuriating one of their bigger constituent groups: Federal workers and their families. The best the Democrats can do at this point is to end the standoff, give the President his money, and then take the matter up in 2020. (If they really think the public agrees with them, that is.)
People are temporarily going to suffer by the lack of paychecks, but in a demented way, I hope CHANCY does keep refusing to negotiate, as it will be proof positive that it is THEIR responsibility.

I'm just sad that President Trump didn't continue pursuing the $25 billion he originally wanted. In a few weeks, Democrats will be desperate to make a deal with him. They'll be willing to give him a lot more than $5.8 billion. Unfortunately, that's all he's now saying he needs.
And, in addition to what you stated, I am annoyed at the Donald for not actively pursuing the immigration battle when he owned all three branches of government.

I am not conceding. BUILD THE FRIGGIN' WALL.
