I dont kn ow about that. When I came back from TX and first thing I did was close that estate, and the hoarder had a fridge down stairs, not plugged in and it was FULL of top $$$ chalking. Not one tube froze. There was no heat down stairs......

if I have to buy a used refrigerator for the shed in order to keep the spuds WARM.

Despite common wisdom, a refrigerator will not keep something from freezing. At that point it is just an insulated box. You might as well get a cooler with something to keep it warm. I don’t know if a fish tank heater can be set to 40°F, but that is the kind of device you would need.
