Look on the bright side De.
Searching through all those boxes for what ya need
will keep you busy and out of trouble.

Or you could print out the spreadsheet with the
inventory now, while you still have power.

Re: ">>> If your power goes out tonight and you wake up tomorrow morning with no internet, no phones, and no power, what is your plan? >>>"
Heat won't be a problem. I've got four months' worth of firewood stacked up outside and a still-virgin wood stove inside. I really should start using it.

When we lived in Virginia, we had twenty gas cans, most of which were filled. Their purpose, though, was to get us to NH if fuel became a problem. Those cans are now empty and I'm not planning on keeping them much longer. If anything, I need to buy a 500 gallon tank and keep it outdoors... I guess I'm saying that if the grid went down today, I'd be in bad shape fuel-wise. I do, however, still have a couple hundred pounds of propane. I could probably do something with it to generate some light. An indoor lantern? Might not be safe. But I do have propane campstoves, propane barbecues and even a portable propane oven. So cooking won't be a problem.

I've got tons of flashlights, batteries, candles and fire starters . . . but that leads to a whole new problem. Nearly all of my supplies are boxed up, and the spreadsheet that tells me which box has what and where each box can be found is on my computer. So what happens if my computer can't be recharged? Finding the things I need will be very, very difficult...
