Well, Oh Salty One,
Most of my stocks are not with a broker, but are in Direct Stock Purchase Plans.
Most, if not all, of those plans will allow for automatic dividend re-investment.
But I prefer to get that check into my bank, and then decide when, or if, and in what,
to re-invest.
In an IRA such re-investment would be the only way to go.
But, I have had Dominion Resources (the power company) for over twenty years now . . .
And if I had been re-investing the dividends it would be the King Kong sized guerrilla
in my portfolio now . . . I like having diversification. So, using Big-D's dividend
to buy shares of other companies works well for me.
