More likely what you are seeing are hedge funds
and computer algo- traders where their computers
are busy trying to out-compute each other. With
we mere mortals caught in the crossfire.

Which is why I invest the way I invest. Buy and hold
and buy more as the mood strikes me.

And enjoy the dividends.

I have found that old timey brokers are a rotten breed, the would sell you their mothers and then try to charge for delivery.

and the bigger and older the company the worse offenders they are... or were. Luckily the discount brokers have undone many of them.
