I do wholeheartedly applaud a father who matter-of-factly instructs his child ... who has now gotten herself kicked off the bus for the SECOND time ... that having a comfortable ride to school is a privilege, rather than a right that is somehow owed to her. She's the one who chose to screw up her bus-riding privileges by behaving badly. I bet she doesn't do it, again.
DITTO. If you have never seen the emotional and sometimes physical effects of bullying, then you would disapprove of this. It is the VICTIM of bullying who suffers. Some of them go so far as to commit suicide because of constant bullying.
Ohgod, let's not punish kids who break the rules.
Oh no, that is so bad for their self-esteem.
We seem to look at this in the same way, and rightfully so.
