The short answer is that you and I didn't make the rules and the universe doesn't care what we want. The longer answer is that in a few more years, we won't have to die - except via accident, suicide and murder. It's only a matter of time before science conquers age.
`
Aging is caused by three things: Shortening of the telomeres each time a cell replicates, carmelization within cells (just like when you cook sugar in a pan) making them sluggish and dysfunctional, and accumulated DNA errors during cell replication. When we learn to correct or prevent those three things, people will no longer age.
`
There may be an even simpler answer: HEAD TRANSPLANTS. It's already being worked on and will probably happen in the next decade.
`
There will still be issues. Brain cells, for instance, don't reproduce at all and naturally die in about 200 years. I'm pretty sure that in 200 years, if humanity doesn't exterminate itself, it will have a solution for that too.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Admittedly, I am a very emotional person.

I am already tearful about the Bush grown-up kids entering the funeral home, which they just did.

I know he was 94 and all of us should be grateful he lived a full, happy and wonderful life. His dedication to public service was awesome. He came from big money and did not need to contribute to our country in the many ways he did.

So, here's my question. WHY do people have to die?
I don't get it. I am not kidding. The survivors suffer the most grievous heartache. You think there is an afterlife and it gives you hope that when you leave this world, there is something better.

I don't know how to get that faith. The honey had it, but I do not, as much as I hate to admit it.

I feel like the original doubting Thomas. If I can't see it, I find it difficult to accept it.

Oh no, they just brought out the casket. His pall bearers were his present Secret Service contingent.

He deserves a respectful send-off. He was a very class act.

A diminishing breed, unfortunately.

thanks, micro
