I didn't know that.

I'm in disagreement with you and most of the world, it seems, because "Midnight..." did nothing for me. With the exception of the interesting tidbits it contained about Johnny Mercer, I thought it was dull. I don't recall seeing the movie - but I wouldn't be too surprised if I did and just forgot, or slept through it.

A lot of these Best Sellers (Midnight..., The Shipping News, The Satanic Verses, etc) are adored by the critics but are, in reality, inexcusably painful reads. For me, anyway.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

Even though we had been to Savannah several times, I had to go back and take the book tour.

We had already been there during St. Patrick's Day festivities. That is where A COP REALLY WILL HOLD YOUR BEER.

Great place!

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is a non-fiction work by John Berendt. The book, Berendt's first, was published in 1994. It became a New York Times Best-Seller for 216 weeks following its debut and remains the longest-standing New York Times Best-Seller.
