My wife tells me that my broadcast started to crackle when she was more than a mile down the road, and went out completely at two and a half.

That's better than I'd hoped! This is with the unit and its antenna sitting indoors, pretty much in the middle of the house. It will do better if I put it near a window and WAY better if I put an antenna on the roof.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

My NIORFNIO radio station was delivered today. I spent a couple of minutes reading both sides of the single-page user manual, then set up and configured the device and antenna. Took me about 15 minutes and it's working great! Currently 105.5 FM... stereo.

I hooked it to my iPod since that was convenient, but any player would work ... as would a microphone.

Per other people's comments, the transmission distance is a couple of suburban blocks in 1 watt mode, and 1 to 2 kilometers in 6 watt mode. I haven't tested its range for myself yet. Getting an outdoor antenna will certainly make a big difference in that range.
