A recount of more than 8 million ballots that ended Thursday afternoon confirmed that Republican Ron DeSantis beat the Democratic Tallahassee mayor in the nationally watched race that galvanized progressives across the country.
The final tally, headed to certification next week, was 4,075,445 for DeSantis and 4,041,762 for Gillum.

FINALLY. @BrowardVotes is done with the machine recount -- with 15 minutes to spare before the state deadline. Results headed to Tallahassee now.
Snipes said these results DO include those 205 votes (with the 23 votes ruled invalid) that Snipes first said she included in the initial count, then said on CNN she didn't.
They didn't finish duplicating some military/overseas votes, so those will be added into manual recount totals, Brenda Snipes said.
