Funny you should ask about that in particular.
LAst week-end I just had TWO new ALL SEASON tires put on the front of my car because of traction in wet road conditions.
I replaced TWO perfectly good Cooper tires that were supposed to be the cat's meow. I will NEVER own another set of cooper tires.
LAst year, I had installed a set of FOUR General ALTIMAX RT43 all season tires.
They ride wonderfully quiet, soft, and BITE on wet road surface. MAde a HUGE difference on her car. I love the ride in her Kia Optima Sedan now. BIG difference.
Consumer Reports states these are the third highest all season tires and touring all seasons you can buy.
I INSTALLED THESE SAME TIRES on MY CAR last weekend and kept the Cooper tires on the rear. The car has been driven about 1500 miles in that time frame.
HUGE DIFFERENCE and I was driving through some pretty good rain on interstate and now on Thursday will get to test them on the ICE in the morning as well.
There is NO DIFFERENCE in the way vehicle SOUNDS with the tread patterns of the Cooper tires and ALtimax on the front.
I highly recommend these tires and when I finally wear out the Coopers, the ALtimax RT43 T rated tires will be put on the car to replace those.
Best tires I have EVER owned and that my friend, is a LOT of Tires.
If you like QUIET, Soft, and 75,000 mile tread warranty, these are for you and will serve your son well in Virginia as they get less snow than I do.....
Wishing you well my friend!
