That was my first thought also. But since they come on a pallet in 40 pound sacks, I *can* stack them like cordwood. If I can figure out how to lift the pallet with my tractor, I won't even need to stack them.

At this point, my biggest objection to pellets is that they aren't compatible with TEOTWAWKI. If it all falls apart, I wouldn't want to be saddled with a wood-burning stove that cannot burn the wood I grow. The only pellets found naturally on my property are... well... this kind:

pellets burn hotter than wood and are reportedly easier to light and clean up.  

...but ya can't stack em like ya can with cordwood.
