It took me a long time to stack the wood. 3 cords were delivered on July 5th. I have a July 9th journal entry that says "I intend to spread the stacking of firewood over a week or more."

Wow, was that overly optimistic. I finished on August 1st!

In my defense, I was stacking the wood on pallets and I only had five. I had to stop stacking while I looked for more. I think I ended up using eight.

Jeez. Re-living this is making the idea of moving 150 bags of pellets sound better and better. On the other hand, maybe 3 cords of firewood will turn out to be overkill and I won't have to stack so much in the future... Fingers crossed.

OH NOOOO - we were surrounded by woods - red oak - and macho man had to go get it. oh yes, I had to go too. Chain saw came out, then it got split, and then (omg), I got to carry it down to the property.

and then stack it.

if we ran out, they would dump a cord or two in the driveway.

ohgod - you had to do that quickly, so you had room to park your cars.

it was cut into pieces and already split.

however, the wood fairy never showed up!

guess who got to carry those mothers down to the house?
