I too have joint problems

I think you're in a very popular club, but we'll let you be President. Howzzz that?

carpal tunnel syndrome

Have you ever seen the scars on the folks who have had that surgery? Ugly, painful and sometimes useless surgery. I t'aint going, nope.

Smartphone app business

Welp, that settles that for me. I have a regular cell, which I do know how to use. I also have a smart phone that belongs to Mr. Techie. I don't even know how to answer it. They have a course you can take here, and I am going to have to join. When I called the company about how to use the Smart Phone, they recommended what store you could go to AND they would help you. I just don't want anyone ELSE to know how technologically disadvantaged I am.
I hate it when an 18-year-old yells at me. Smile)

====================

Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 13 is still on sale at Amazon. At $72.65, it's actually about a dollar fifty less than when I bought it a few months ago. Retail was $199, but I don't think it will be sold at all for Windows after the end of the year. Customer support will no longer be available for it at that time either. I'm betting on not having a need for customer support. I usually don't.

Seriously, they could give it to me, or even PAY me a million or so to use it, but it would have to come with a PERSON to help me. I can't think of anyone who would want to spend a lifetime trying to give me Dragon support. I do tend to ask questions over and over. Hard to believe, huh?

And yet another waste of your time trying to help me. Here's an announcement: Don't try and help Kathy. She just doesn't GET IT.

Re: “ I would love to use that (you tawk, they type) as I have developed this annoying arthritis in my hands.”

Aside from the fact that I use templates like 'DearKathy' for most of my posts, I too have joint problems. I messed up my elbow about 20 years ago playing tennis, and I'm probably on the brink of carpal tunnel syndrome since my fingertips go numb if I do certain things with my wrists for too long.

Nuance is phasing out Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I think the company is going strictly into the Smartphone app business where they'll be able to charge people on a monthly basis for the use of their product. They might have also gotten sick of Microsoft with its biannual operating system updates that cause everybody's applications to break.

'Premium' is more expensive than 'Home edition' but it has some features I needed: The ability to create customized commands that are multiple words and/or lines long for instance, instead of just words. And support for my laptop's microphone. I never liked having to cart a microphone around with me.

For me, the added convenience and the relief 'Premium edition' gives my wrist makes it worth $72.65 easy.

Here's a link to my original post about it.
