Re: “WOW your boy is getting around the world at such a young age. Good for him!!!!!!!!”
It's exciting. TBH, I'm not completely behind him on this. He's already at a good school... probably a better school than Waseda, in fact. But it's a good opportunity - there is no extra tuition and a dorm is less expensive there than here. But there's the airfare... and, miscellanous expenses including food (okay, he'd be eating if he were here, too.) Some of the classes he'll be taking will not be accepted by UVA for his major. HOWEVER, UVA has a requirement to take a certain number of units above and beyond those needed for the major. It's a graduation requirement, and the Waseda courses can still be applied there. So there won't be any waste.
Joey is a work horse (56 units taken in his first three semesters) and was originally planning to take a heavy course load while overseas. I told him not to. If he's going to be in Japan for five months, he should take a light load so that he'll have time to experience the culture. I think that makes sense.
Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months |
